Welcome to the Australasian Maritime Historical Society website.

The Society is interested in finding an enthusiastic person to continue the aims of the society.

A.M.H.S. was formed in 1971 by a group which included the current president Ron Parsons to encourage the research, collection and preservation of the nautical history of Australia and New Zealand. The Society has gathered a large collection of information on the ships and shipowners, master mariners and sailors known to have operated in Australian and New Zealand waters, or have regularly visited from overseas ports. 

The Society is open to membership to anyone interested in maritime history and the aims of the society. Members receive a copy of the quarterly journal AUSTRALASIAN SHIPPING RECORD.
Membership (Aust. & NZ): $22.00  (Australian dollars)
Overseas membership $30.00

Th Society will undertake research on relevant maritime matters both at a superficial level, and indepth. A nominal charge is applicable to cover costs. Contact the society to determine the rate applicable.
