SHIPSWRECKS

Peter Stone

Thankyou for viewing my portfolio.

Please note: I normally take slides as these are required for reproduction by magazines and advertising agencies. Most of the following selection have been reproduced from printed copies taken from magazines, as I do not usually use rint film, hence the quality of reproduction is not the best. If I have scanned off a photographic print, it probably came from a slide and once again a certain amount of quality degradation is to be expected.

BOROKO HARBOUR WRECK, SOLOMONS
W.W.2 JAPANESE TRANSPORT
AT BOROKO HARBOUR SOLOMON ISLANDS.

This 'goalpost' wreck is a popular dive, akthough access from the dive operation at Gizo requires a fast boat. The ship is in shallow water as can be seen in the photo. Although not recommended, it is possible to penetrate the cabin area and engineroom. A Japanese landing craft lies next to the hull amidships. The ship could have been British at one stage as the ship's telegraph has been overpainted in Japanese characters, and British 78rpm music records have been recovered.

More to come. I am still working on this page.
