| CHRISTMAS AT
HOME
December 2003. Christmas was great fun once again, with lots of presents. Some of them were about my favourite cartoon, Bob The Builder. I didn't get anything "big" this year, just lots of smaller presents and lots of books. |

| DAD'S BIG SIX-OH
November 15, 2003 was a milestone for Dad as he turned sixty - a Senior Citizen, complete with a card to prove it. Mum's idea of a good time was to go to Melbourn for the weekend. Dad wasn't too sure about this but for once did not complain. We stayed in a fine hotel right in the middle of the city, and visited Southbank. |

Southbank is great, with many restaurants and street theatre. Here I had to slay the viking with his own sword. He was a nice man so I couldn't really hit him. |

| At lunchtime we went to th Red Emperor chinese restaurant for Yum-Cha. Dad was in for a big surprise. Whilst sitting there overlooking the Yarra, a lady came up behinad Dad, wrapped her arms around him and said, "Happy birthday, big boy!". It was Catherine, my big sister. Dad lept up and gave her a big hug. I think he had a tars in his eyes. It was wonderful. Catherine flew over from Perth on the midnight flight and arrived just that morning. She stayed at the same hotel as us. We had a terrific afternoon together, mainly at the street market at Southbank, and then went to a kids concert performance by the ABC Orchestra at their studios. On Saturday night I stayed at the hotel with Mum and we had dinner in our room, while Dad and Catherine went off to dinbner together. Mum said it was a special occasion, something to do with glue, where they bonded together!! Dad said he great time with Catherine as they talked all the time. | ![]() |

| BRISBANE AND
NOOSA
September-October 2003. Sam was particularly sad when his "big brother" Anton moved to Noosa with his family in November 2002, so we had to visit as soon as we could. First we stayed in Brisbane for three nights which gave us the chance to catch up with friend and ex-Yarram cop Phil Gottliebsen who moved up to Brisbane several years ago. We hired a car and drove to Noosa for ten wonderful days with the Cherici's at Sunrise Beach. Sam had a great time, spending a lot of time in their pool, taking a river cruise, going to the beach and visiting the towns and attractions. |

Sam's wasn't too impressed at having his hir cut but it was far too long for the warmth of Noosa. |
