SAM'S SEVENTH PAGE

Guess what footbal team Sam supports?
This was the photo that dad sent in to the Carlton Football Club, with a letter saying, "I've supported the Blues for over half a century and now that I have a son I would like him to follow them also. But what do I say to him when he asks, "Dad, why does my team loose all the time." Dad received a phone call from Carlton a few days later - from Mandy Hunter, wife of Carlton great Ken Hunter. She was absolutely delightful, and Dad and Mandy hd a great chat about the not-so-mighty-at-the-moment Blues, and the problems of the club. And Sam received som stockers and a club photo - perhaps the worst team that Carlton has put together although 2005 isn't looking too flash. But Sam has stuck it out and proudly wears his Carlton jumper to AusKick.

Now there's a determined look. The lad is growing up fast, this photo taken just a month before he turned three.

Hello to all those wonderful people who have said Hi to Sam over the past few months, including Peter (son of Brendan), Caroline, Tony and Henry, JB, and Jonathon, and Poppy Frank and Grandy Mary. Its great to hear from you.
Sam, and his Mum and Dad, spent two weeks recently (end September 2001) visiting the rellies in Western Australia. It was a time to catch up with the Hamilton cousins, Auntie Georgi and cousin Hannah, big sister Catherine and neice Sienna, and of course Poppy Alex and Grandma Stevie. Sam, Mum, Dad, Catherine, Sienna and Catherine's partner Peter had five days at beautiful Albany on the south coast, one of the most beautiful regions in the world.
Hi to Anton - thanks for looking after me at the show.
And congratulations to Uncle Kris and new Auntie Rachael - it was a great wedding.
And a very special message to Poppy Frank - please get well soon, we love you.

SAM AND MARIAN
Marian Gottliebsen visited us from Queensland. It was only a short visit as we had to go to Melbourne for Aunty Kerry and Uncle Steve's wedding, but it was great to see her.

'HIT IT DAD' - SAM PLAYING CRICKET AT HOME
Sam loves cricket - and football, and golf. He has a great swing, and ball and eye co-ordination, for a not yet three-year-old. Lets hope that if he does become an international cricketer, he doesn't end up like some of the yobbos on the Australian team at the moment. Here he is making a swing, with Anton as wicket-keeper.

         SAM AT HOME

Guess who Sam barracks for ?
He is a greater kicker of the football.

Its been a hard day.
SAM AT ALBANY
WITH MUM, DAD, SISTER CATHERINE, NEICE SIENNA, AND PETER
Sam had five wonderful days at Albany on King George Sound on the southern Western Australian coast, one of the most beautiful harbours in world.

We visited Whaleword, the site of the old whaling station. Thats one of the whaling boats in the background. Another boat has been sunk for recreational scuba divers in the sound.
And the treetop walk through the valley of the giants. Wendy was not too happy about this as the whole structure swayed slightly, 30 metres off the ground. The coastline is magnificent with huge cliffs, archways, and even a sloping horizon!
We visited the replica of the brig Amity which brought settlers to King George Sound in the 1820s.  And Sienna had a play on one of huge anti-aircraft guns at the war museum overlooking the harbour.

AND A FEW MORE FAMILY PHOTOS FROM WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Clockwise from top: Sam and Mum at Kings Park overlooking Perth. Cousin Hannah with scarecrows in her backyard. Dad and Catherine. Its storytime with Catherine with Hannah, Sienna and Sam.

Sam didn't really want to say goodbye to Poppy Alex and Nanna Stevie as he was having such a great time in Western Australia. But the school holidays were over and Wendy had to go back to teaching, and Dad to his business. But we will all be back in March next year for Catherine and Peter's wedding.
AND FINALLY, BACK HOME AGAIN.
